Project-based learning is a pedagogical approach that allows students to become fully involved in the construction of their knowledge in interaction with their peers and their environment and that invites the teacher to act as a privileged pedagogical mediator between the student and the objects of knowledge that are the knowledge to be acquired.

Project-based learning favours a dynamic and continuous interaction of the three elements of the pedagogical structure, i.e. the teacher, the pupil and the knowledge in the pupil’s socio-relational environment. The teacher acts as a mediator and focuses his or her intervention on the student’s learning process.

The pupil is no longer passive with regard to knowledge; on the contrary, he/she mobilises different resources in order to build meaningful and sustainable learning.

Projects allow students to experience meaningful and complex learning situations, to become aware of how they learn and to work in a creative and reflective way.

Projects are open-ended and adjust to the students’ progress. The projects we undertake with students take into account their interests, maturity, cultural experience, living environment and emotional and intellectual abilities. Our intervention must be adapted to the differences, individual needs and learning styles of our students.

The implementation of a project-based pedagogy allows the development of the following skills

The socio-relational development of pupils. They collaborate, experiment and carry out their project together.

Promotes the integral development of the person, gives meaning to learning.

Promotes autonomous thinking and freedom of choice and action.

Every project leads to a concrete and creative achievement. A project has a development phase, a realisation phase and a communication phase, where the student presents and shares his/her learning with his/her peers.
